The magic of quotes - vol. 1

Swish Divider

For those who don’t already know, I love quotes. The right ones hold a special meaning for me and offer comfort, strength and encouragement when I feel I need it. So, I’ve decided to create a series of blogs centered around quotes that I believe can offer support and guidance to you during what I know is one of life’s most challenging transitions.

During my separation, I looked at quotes as little reminders from the universe, showing up at just the right time to offer guidance and reassurance. They helped me shift my perspective, and provided much-needed clarity on the tough (and sometimes tougher!) days.

I often repeated them to myself on days I struggled, or when I just need a gentle nudge to stay grounded and on track.

I also pinned them up on my pinboard at home, so I could see them every day. If you have a vision board, it’s a perfect place to display them, too. For me, they’re not just words… they’re a source of support, and a way to stay focused on healing and moving forward.

Here are a few of my favourites….

1. Don’t forget your long game

If the version of you from 5 years ago could see you right now, they'd be so proud. Keep going.

2. Be grateful for the small things

Happiness is... going to bed knowing you can sleep for as long as you want.

3. Surround yourself with positive influences

I love people that have no idea how wonderful they are and just wander around making the world a better place.

4. Listen to your gut

Intuition - When you have a keen sense of the feely feels that feel feely and you feel like you know things that you don't know, but you do know because you're feeling them.

5. Forgiveness is for YOU

Forgive anyone who has caused you pain - Les Brown

6. Remember you’re wiser now… you’ve got this!

Don't be afraid to start over, you're starting from experience

7. Every word holds impact. Never say a bad word about yourself, even in your mind.

Don't speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke. Your body doesn't know the difference. Words are energy and cast spells, that's why it's called spelling. Change the way you speak about yourself and you can change your life. Bruce Lee
